Attendance

ATTENDANCE
State law requires pupils to attend their assigned classes every day school is in session.
Any student missing more than 30 days for any one class in a semester may not receive credit for that class. All absences not cleared by a note or parent phone call to the attendance office within 72 hours will be considered truant and the student may be assigned a Saturday School.
Consequences:
Students with unexcused absences will be referred to an Assistant Principal for interventions and attendance make-up through Saturday School. Excessive unexcused absences and/or truancies will result in referral to the School Attendance Review Board (SARB).
Absences must be reported or cleared within 72 hours, either by phone call (voicemail) or parent/doctor’s note.
If your student was marked absent in error, please have your student contact the teacher. The teacher must then email or call the Attendance Office with the correction. Your student is responsible for speaking to the teacher to clear these absences.
Students who arrive late to school must have a parent/guardian contact attendance PRIOR to arriving on campus.
Off Campus Pass Procedures – All student s must have an OCP to leave campus during school hours. Parent /guardian must call at least 1 hour prior before student release from class.
You may not call after 2:30 to request an early release (OCP).
Excused Absence/Tardy: (Make-up work allowed) Per Education Code 48205:
Personal illness or quarantine
Illness or death in the immediate family
